Random ficlet of nonsense.

I'm really just exercising my creative muscles here..  so it's probably crap!
And it was sort of written in my head at 8am, while i was at the barn freezing my ass off.

Title:  I'll be home for christmas.
Author:  finny91
Characters:  Gerard & Mikey.  Not incest!
Summary:  Too short for a summary really.
Rating:  I dunno..  pg-13 (?)  I have no clue about the rating system.
Un beta-ed.  Unless of course you count me going over this with glitter, one of the horses, at the barn when it popped into my head at 8am.  So any and all mistakes are mine.

An aging Gerard Way tugged his coat collar closer around his neck and shoulders as he exists Newark airport on Christmas eve. The air outside is frigid and he wraps an arm around himself and quickens his pace. He heads over to pick up his rental car, thoughts drifting to the familiar place here’s here to visit, the reason for his return home.

It’s been a while since Gerard saw Mikey, he’s a very busy man after all and had been traveling around Australia and Europe. His thoughts linger on Mikey, he misses his brother’s company; his casual grace and his ability to be completely serious one minute and giggling the next. Gerard thinks of the Christmas gift he bought for his brother while traveling through Sidney, it’s tucked away safely in his suitcase.

As Gerard drives out of the parking lot he remembers he should pick up some flowers for Alicia on his way over to Mikey’s place. Gerard drives slowly careful of the icy roads. He hadn’t been to Jersey in a while, perhaps a year, but he remembers it’s streets like he had never been away; Jersey would always be his home.

He pulled into the small parking space his insides squirming with anxiety over seeing his brother. He picks up his small shoulder bag placing Mikey’s gift inside and gathers the flowers he collected for Alicia into his arms. Adjusting his scarf he started to walk the familiar path.

“Hey Mikes”.

Gerard greets his brother with a smile, kneeling down he takes the unwrapped gift from his bag and places the flowers on the ground. Brushing the snow from the top of the headstone he grins,

“I told you I’d be home for Christmas”.

The lettering on the headstone was still as vibrant as the day it was made. Gerard wipes off the snow with his gloved hand, tracing the words with his finger,

Michael James Way “Mikey”
Born 09.10.1980 Died 03.12.2008
Beloved Son, Brother and Husband.

Gerard fingers travel lower and he wipes the snow from the lower half of the stone and reads,

Alicia Way
Born 11.08.1981 Died 03.12.2008
Loving Daughter and Wife.

Gerard places the stuffed kangaroo on top of the headstone and arranges the flowers carefully on the grave.

“Merry Christmas Mikey”.

Authors note:  I'm not sure of Alicia's DOB, so i made it up.  I did look but couldn't find anything.

By all rights I should have been bawling my eyes out at the end but you made it sad, yet with a peaceful kind of mourning that had me feeling okay with it!

oh it was. it *REALLY* was, because that's not what I was expecting and it hit me like a sucker punch to the gut and just.. ~flails~ absolutely awesome, and you're right about the warning kind of ruining it, but... ~flails more~

I'm actually suprised people liked this, i wrote it like really early in the morning and it wasn't very christmassy and it was a bit morbid i guess. I'm glad it got a good response.

a friend of mine always says that the stuff she writes as throw away one offs and doesn't really care about gets the best response, and the stuff she really pours herself into winds up getting little to no response. always makes me wonder, too.

the first fic i wrote seriously took me 15 mins and was so damn short. it got awesome responses. i havn't really written anything long. my ideas tend to come to me when i'm freezing at the barn so they're mostly short and sweet.

i often wonder about that too, so basically even if i think somethings crap i still put it up. someone might like it.

Heehee.. i've been consumed, but not in a bad way!! it has taken over my life slightly.. no complaints here though. I used to read buffyverse, years ago though. i read alot of HP in uni..kept me sane i guess. One fandom is enough for me right now.. i honeslt couldn;t fit another one into my life.

there is a bigger copy. the babies naked bum is rest in petes arm. i'm sure theres another one with the same baby, where petes smiling, but I'll be damned if i can find it. The interents a hard place to track down one thing. loads of pics of his dick, but non of him with babies. i think he wanted to take this kid home. have you seen the fuse special, like the making of special??

I am on icecreamhdaches, but i haven't been able to go and delve yet. christmas has kept me busy, but as I unexpectedly have this week off (baby with the flu...so not the way I would have chosen to have vacation, thanks), i shall need to go and do that.

and yes. yes they do. Patrick's already said they're married.
